Prentice Hall, the publisher of the textbook
for the course, has provided a companion
web site for students and faculty members to use. While we are
not taking advantage of some of the features (such as the syllabus, etc.),
the site does have a feature students could benefit from. There are
practice questions (true/false and multiple choice) available grouped by
chapter. This is similar to an online "study guide." While
no test questions will be taken directly from those online, it seems the
online questions would certainly be good practice for exam questions.
Since not all concepts in a chapter are
emphasized or required, not all questions would be appropriate. Students
should be able to recognize by the content of the question whether it would
be appropriate to practice.
As usual, comments
about the effectiveness of this feature are welcomed and appreciated. |
